ISSAN seeks closer collaboration with EFCC on cybersecurity

The African Information Security Corporation – Nigeria (ISSAN) has called for stronger and closer collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to protect cyberspace to more effectively combat internet fraud and other financial crimes in Nigeria.

The call was made in Abuja by the Vice President of ISSAN, Dr. Martin Ikpehai, while leading a three-man delegation on a courtesy visit to the EFCC headquarters. According to him, the EFCC is doing a great job in stopping cybercrime. He called for a more sustainable approach to taking back cyberspace from internet fraudsters.

“Now all business activities are conducted in the digital space, and as businesses move into cyberspace, criminals pursue them online. One important thing that we have realized is that the EFCC, as an anti-crime organization, has done a lot in this aspect of crime, especially in the fight against crime in the digital space and we we are happy. We are also happy to fight this crime and let you know that there should be synergy between our organization and the EFCC,” he said.
