Mangaluru: The Central Crime Bureau of the Mangaluru police has arrested two men for allegedly possessing illegal firearms and live ammunition, officials said on Tuesday.

They were identified as Mohammad Asgar (26) and Abdul Nisar K (29), both residents of Manjeshwar in Kasargod district of Kerala, they said.

Acting promptly on a tip-off, the Mangaluru Central Crime Bureau (CCB) police received information that two persons in the Pilikur area of ​​Talapadi village of Ullal taluk were allegedly roaming around in an unlicensed black car and would carry a pistol and brandish it as follows. they were traveling in the expensive vehicle.

According to Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Aggarwal, the CCB team confiscated a pistol, two live cartridges, two mobile phones and a black Hyundai Verna.

The total value of the seizure is Rs. 7,15,000.

A case has been registered at Ullal police station in this regard.

Mohammad Asgar was a repeat offender and a total of eight cases were registered against him at Manjeshwar police station in Kasaragod district of Kerala, including highly incriminating cases such as attempt to murder, kidnapping, assault and sale of ganja at the Ullal police station. and smuggling ganja within the limits of Baiyappanahalli police station in Bangalore city.
